An experienced narrates of a Dharma course in the mountain A Shaolin monk named Shi Yan Chang was born in the martial arts family heritage and a sincere faith in Buddhism and hold an official ranks for generations. At age six, with his grandfather and a Shaolin monastery  chief coach fighting monk,Venerable SHI YONG XIANG, learned

the Shaolin martial arts. In the proper family discipline, which influenced him, the

young Shi Yan Chang often asked his grandparents to tell him the stories of the ancient swordsmen. The story was about Zen Koan an old classic story of Buddhism. His grand- parents often described the story of vanishing swordsmen; the skilled of a large number of mooted and foot soldiers’ enemy.

 

At that time, although the conception of the classic story about Buddhism and the ancient story of swordsmen was not clear, confused and distinguishable;he seemed to understandbut not really comprehended. With his youth’s vision and condition,which

influenced him, they brought him an eagerness of learning the Shaolin martial arts. When he was twelve, under the protection of his grandparents and their good martial art;friend,SHI YONG XIANG, he finally arrived in Shaolin Monastery where he was longing for.The young ordained SHI YANG CHANG, as a child, he always annoyed his grandfather  one day he wished to go to Shaolin monastery. It finally came true.

 

With the recommendation from Master SHI YONG XIANG, he paid homage and took a vow under Venerable SHI YONG QIAN, the thirty-third generation of Shaolin high monk, to become his disciple. He learned from the Kung Fu masters to practice Shaolin martial arts. They were: Venerable SHI YONG XIANG, SHI XING ZHENG, SHI DE CHAN, SHI SU XI, SHI HAI DENG, SHI SU YUN, SHI SU YI, SHI YONG TING,and Venerable SHI YONG ZHAI. And most of these masters were mastering forms of martial arts. Below are the forms these masters had skilled with. Most of these masters were deceased and only Shi Su Xi

SHI SU YUN as the Master of Gun Dang Shuang Dao (Twin Weapons)

SHI YONG ZHAI as the Master of Tong Bei Quan (Opening The Arms Fist)

SHI XING FA as the Master of Lo Han Quan (Arhat Fist)

SHI XING SHU as the Master of Damo Jian (Bodhi Dharma Sword)

Here is his story;At that time, the living conditions in Shaolin Monastery were very simple and crude. For water,we drank the maize soup.For food we ate buns and big saltyradish.At that time in the monastery, there were only Venerable XING ZHENG, DE CHAN, XING MIN, YONG CHANG, DE MING, SU XI, YONG ZHEN, YONG QIAN, and REN AN.Altogether there were only ten monks including myself. I was the youngest ordained Sramanera (novice monk). To run errands, the old master always asked me to help the other monks. Sometimes some of the monks were joking with me saying: "Little child,we are old now. In order to inherit the Shaolin meditation and martial arts, you have to be ready to accept some suffering. You must have a power to practice, hardworking. The Shaolin Monastery will be able to revive and succeed in its teaching.Then,everybody will teach you few patterns of the martial arts. It will benefit you endlessly.”

 

My master SHI YONG QIAN often gave us the discourse. He wanted me to be able to learn the tranquility for everyone. Learn about no distinguish inside the mind. Learn to treat every person as the same as you’re own grand master, your master, your father and your mother. Learn to care for everyone, as much as care for ourselves.Learn to demand ourselves stricter than to demand others. The conduct was as clean as snow, hardworking; self encouraged and followed the good ways. Try to do the best you can. If ordinary people wanted to become a saint, they must go through this kind of treatment. It was like the fifth Patriarch transferring the Dharma to the sixth Patriarch. At first, he explained about the Diamond Sutra. At that time, the fifth Patriarch talked about Apratisthita (non-abiding) that arose from his mind. Immediately the sixth Patriarch had a great enlightenment. Through the practice of Buddha Dharma, he had the appropriate persistence of human mind to renounce the ego, personality and individuality.It was written as the four Gatra of the Diamond Sutra,   “All created things are like dream, illusions, bubbles and shadows.

Don "The Dragon" Wilson is considered the greatest kick-boxing champion in the sport's history. A native of South Florida, Wilson began fighting in the late 1970s. In a career which spanned 4 decades, he won 11 world kick-boxing championships, among them the WKA, STAR, WKC, PKO Lightheavyweight World Championships, WKA, STAR, ISKA World Cruiserweight Titles, and the WKA and STAR Super-Lightheavy

weight World Championships. He posted a record of 71-5-2 with 47 wins by knockout. Wilson defeated such world champions as Dennis Alexio, Oaktree Edwards, and Dick Kimber. He retired from the sport in 1990, but launched a comeback on May 14, 1999. Since his return he has knocked-out Dick Kimber and defeated Dewey Cooper.

           Grand Master Bill "SuperFoot" Wallace

     

Bill Wallace retired as the undefeated Professional Karate Association (PKA) Middleweight Champion after defeating Bill Biggs in a 12-round bout in June 1980. The victory, Wallace's 23rd straight, signaled the end to an illustrious 15-year career in tournament and full contact fighting.Known to the karate world simply as "Superfoot," symbolic of his awesome left leg, which was once clocked in excess of 60 mph, Wallace left a string of battered and bruised bodies along the martial arts fighting trail.

He used his foot as others would use their hands, faking opponents with two or three rapid fake kicks and following with one solid knockout technique. His power was amazing, his precision astounding.Wallace, a 5-foot, 10 1/2 inch native of Portland, Ind., began studying karate in February 67 after suffering a right leg injury in a judo accident

The injury left him without the use of the leg in karate competition. Some observers said Wallace was committing martial arts suicide. Wallace, however, had other ideas.In the next seven years, "Superfoot," named after his manager saw an advertisement for a "super foot long hot dog" at a sporting event, dominated the point-tournament circuit.

As a national champion point fighter three years in a row, Wallace captured virtually every major event on the tournament circuit. The more prestigious victories included: the U.S. Championships (3 times), the USKA Grand Nationals (3 times), and the Top Ten Nationals (2 times).

 

He was such as dominant figure in martial arts that Black Belt magazine, the bible of industry publications, named him to its Hall of Fame three times in seven years -- twice as "Competitor of the Year" and once as "Man of the Year." In 1973, Wallace, whose education includes a bachelor's degree (1971) in physical education from Ball State University and a master's degree (1976) in kinesiology (the study of human movement) from Memphis State University, suffered what many considered a career-ending injury. However, one of Wallace's friends, the late Elvis Presley, flew in a Los Angeles acupuncturist to treat the Karate champion at Graceland Manor. A year later, Wallace turned professional and captured the PKA middleweight karate championship with a second-round knockout (hook kick) of West German Bernd Grothe in Los Angeles.

 

He relinquished the crown in 1980, undefeated and respected around the world. Despite his retirement, Wallace continues to be one of the martial arts most popular figures. He is the author of three books: Karate: Basic Concepts &Skills,DynamicKicking&Stretching,

and The Ultimate Kick.As well as a former member of the President's Council on Physical Fitness, Wallace also has been active in the film industry. His credits include : A Force of One with Chuck Norris; Kill Point, with Cameron Mitchell; Continental Divide and Neighbors, with John Belushi, whom he acted as trainer and bodyguard; Protector, with Jackie Chan; A Prayer for the Dying,with Mickey Rourke; Ninja Turf; and A sword of Heaven.
